As if you haven’t noticed… I’m on an extended leave, trying to have as much fun with my son as possible, and trying to renovate the basement in my house.
So the posting here will be really scarce for another week, at least, but I’ve bought a new toy… it’s a Canon 450D digital camera… so I’ve put a feed from Flickr on the sidebar so you can see that I live, I’m usually uploading a couple of hundred photos every other day.
Now my son seem to have gone to sleep, so now I’m going to go downstairs to be social with mom, dad, bro’ and wife.
It’s the busiest time of the year… vacation.
In Sweden we’ve got 4 weeks of vacation per year — stipulated by law, you can have less if you want to, but your employer have to give you 4 (consecutive) weeks.
I remember back in the days, when I lived alone in an apartment, then it was four weeks of leisure and beer. Now with wife, dogs, a son and a house… it’s four weeks (well 6 for me) of consecutive hard labour.
We’re trying to make some adjustments to the basement, installing a toilet, removing the mandatory crap that’s been piled up and a guestroom. So far I’ve got the plumbing and floor for the toilet (it’s the old boiler room), thrown away some of the crap. I got the floor done in the “guest room” last year, but it came to a grinding halt there.
Took a break last night to clear out my desk and untangle the cables behind it… we’ve been on a shopping spree at IKEA, we bought some new cabinets and a chair for me.
Over all I’m pleased with it, although we have to find some place to put the books that’s stacked on the floor — we’re out of room in the bookshelves.
