I’ve done like most of the intarwebsters it seems, I’ve bought more domains. My thought is to niche out…
To let Spacewaster be what it orignially was ment to be - a technology blog. I like tech-stuff, everything–ranging from steam engines to silicone chips…
Thing is that I am all over the place at the moment, and with a slap in the face from Google for selling my soul to Mammon, I’m not quite sure on what I should do with this domain.
For you non-tech savvy people I can say that according to the Google EULA we’re not allowed to manipulate search results by selling links etc.
It’s because it messes with Google’s brain… a sites ranking on a result page is depending on something called Page Rank (PR for short), that is achieved by getting a lot of buzz, incoming links from other (preferably) big sites.
When you as a publisher sell links, like this one, auto insurance - I just made $5, but Google don’t like that - thus I got "RankSlapped" to a PR of 0 - the lowest.
So what to do?
I have it in my soul to not delete posted material, and sifting through all my posts and adding rel="nofollow" to all my paid links will take a lot of time, you can get "reinstated" by Google, if you remove all paid links and crawl up to them on your bare knees begging for forgiveness…
So I can change niche now, writing up another techie-blog that nobody will read since it’ll probably dissapear in the noise when I don’t have a PR and will loose most readers from there or I can wade through the posts making amends.
