In the movie Boyz n' the Hood (from -91) there's one scene in particular that I remember when they're home at Ice Cube's character Doughboy's house they had these plastic slipcovers over the sofa's...

I was amused to see this, and after that I noticed these slipcovers in almost all American movies. Slipcovers doesn't exist in Sweden, in that way anyhow - especially the plastic ones. What's the idea of to buy a sofa if you're not going to take it out of it's wrapper?...

It's nearing the time when my wife doesn't get older... trying to be somewhat diplomatic here ;-)

Of-course this adds to my never-ending list of rants of Sweden, when it comes to cool stuff in the stores. Just take a simple thing like party invitation cars - you only have stock here, if you want to have professional one-off cards it'll cost you big bucks!...

I think there's enough of make-money blogs on the 'net, so I'm going to give another idea. It requires some initial funding, that's why I'm giving it to you for free, I don't have the cash......

Sadly our town/county is dying, since I moved here some seven hundred people have left (either moved or passed away)... that's like 100 per year, and still we have sort of a baby boom here. Just by going to the "platsbanken", it's where the stately job center lists available jobs... let's just say that it isn't quite up to Boston resumes, when it comes to listings...

Luckily those that leave for college or work usually seem to move back when it's time to raise their kids.

One more day of hard labor until I go on a seven week (paid) vacation.... and no, it isn't usual for even us to have that much vacation in a year - truth to be said, there's "only" three weeks of vacation, the four others is "parental leave".

Man, oh man, am I looking forward to this - even though my wife and I only have three weeks of vacation together, the reason we've done it in this way is because the daycare is closed over summer. But the mere idea of being able to stay home and play with our son for forty nine straight days is beyond belief!...
