It’s 10.30am and we just woke up. One of the first thing you learn when you become a parent is to sleep whenever you get the chance, and with Helge sleeping over at he’s grandparents we dug in deep.
I almost feel drunk, one is not used to getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep…
I’m just going to finish this cup of coffee, then it’s back to "work" in the basement. I just have the cornice left in the "relax" room.
After that I’m going to start with the toilet, and yes John, I’m going to explain better how we’re doing…
We’ve started to refurbish the basement of our house.
* Boiler room -> toilet
* Room where the oil tank was -> guest bedroom
* Room before the bath room -> spiffing up
The owners before us swapped out the old oil/electric boiler for district heating, so we don’t need a boiler room and a tank room anymore. Since we’re making the basement a livable area we’re touching everything up.
Last week we had a floor dresser put in tiles in the toilet, we’ve had a plumber come earlier to do the pipes and the floor since we had to bile it all up, and I got the tedious work of putting in a floor in the “room before the bath room”.
I know I’m not making much sense at the moment, but I’ll put some photos online and some plans on how it looks.
Got to tell you, when you put in a new floor - thank God for all the promotional pens! They’re a life saver, if you’re anything like me. I think I used up (err… misplaced) at least 10 of them.
